GITS Rough Carpentry Contractor--Class "RC" - BBE1B
Rough Carpentry Category–Class “RC”: The scope of work of a Class “RC” specialty building contractor shall include and be limited to rough carpentry and formwork for wooden patio decks, roofs, trusses, sheathing, fascia boards (furring and blocking), placing and finishing concrete, and prefabricated sheds limited to two hundred (200) square feet. The Class “RC” category does not include trim carpentry or finish carpentry. A Class “RC” specialty building contractor may not pull permits for more than two (2) floors. In order to be eligible to be certified as a Class “RC” specialty builder by the board, the applicant shall have at least two (2) years of practical experience in the category.
The Rough Carpentry Contractor–Class “RC” examination is based on trade-specific information pertaining to materials, tools, equipment, practices, terminology, and relevant laws. The examination is a two (2) hour, open book exam that consists of 50 questions.
