For more than 30 years, Edgar J. Gonzalez has dedicated his career to educating construction professionals and helping them achieve their goal of becoming licensed contractors in the State of Florida. Throughout his career, he has helped more than 100,000 contractors prepare for and successfully pass Florida state licensing examinations while providing continuing education to thousands of licensed professionals.

Edgar began his career in contractor education in 1989 as an instructor with Contractors Exam School, one of Florida’s premier contractor licensing schools. Through his dedication to excellence, he advanced to the position of Vice President, where he was responsible for curriculum development, instructor training, classroom instruction, and student success.

When the State of Florida implemented mandatory continuing education requirements in 1993, Edgar was honored to be among the first state-approved Continuing Education instructors, teaching licensed contractors throughout Florida and helping shape professional education within the construction industry.

The educational legacy of Contractors Prep School traces its roots to Allstate Construction College, founded in 1985 by the Moyant family. That tradition later continued through Contractors Exam School. After the retirement and passing of its owners, Edgar accepted the responsibility of carrying that legacy forward by establishing and expanding Contractors Prep School (CPS), preserving its long-standing reputation for excellence in contractor licensing education.

In addition to his work as an educator, Edgar has built an extensive career as a licensed construction professional. His experience spans residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and government construction projects.
