Roofing Contractor--Class "R" - BTE1B
Roofing Category–Class “R” The scope of work of a Class “R” specialty builder shall include and be limited to the installation, repair, and replacement of roof coverings to stop water from passing by such applied protective material, membrane, surface, or seal, including, but not limited to, the use of sheet metal and other sheet metal products necessary and incidental to roofing work; including the installation, repair, waterproofing, leak stoppage, extension of the life of the roof, and replacement of downspouts, shingles, roofing tiles, and other materials used in connection therewith; and including the installation of nonstructural elements. In order to be eligible to be certified as a Class “R” specialty building contractor by the board, the applicant shall have at least four (4) years of practical experience in the category.
The Roofing Contractor–Class “R” examination is based on trade-specific information pertaining to materials, tools, equipment, practices, terminology, and relevant laws. The examination is a two (2) hour, open book exam that consists of 50 questions.
